Two candidates. One stage. One city. One debate about New Westminster’s business future - Exclusively hosted by the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce.

The race for Mayor of New Westminster is on!

Join the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce for the 2026 Mayoral Candidates Debate, featuring Patrick Johnstone (Community First) and Daniel Fontaine (New West Progressives).

This exclusive debate will be moderated, focusing on the issues that matter most to New Westminster’s business community, employers, investors, and residents. 

Hear each candidate outline their vision for economic growth, discuss how they will support local businesses, and explain their approach to building a thriving, competitive, and resilient local economy. 

Have a Question for the Candidates? 
Submit your question in advance and tell us what you want the candidates to address. 
Given the limited time available, selected questions will be addressed during the debate. The moderator and Chamber will manage the time allocated to each question and group or summarize questions on similar topics.
