Dr. Sherry Zhao is the Founder and CEO of Kalino Bio, a Vancouver-based company developing next-generation medicine for companion animals to meet unmet medical needs. Prior to founding Kalino Bio, she served as Regional Director at Mitacs, where she drove significant expansion of research funding across British Columbia. A recognized leader in Canada's innovation ecosystem, she sits on the board of the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum and serves on the advisory committee of GVBOT's Scale-up Centre for SMEs. She also teaches AI applications for business as part-time faculty at Simon Fraser University.
Dr. Zhao holds a BSc from Peking University, a PhD in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia , and a mini MBA from the Sauder School of Business. She is a recipient of the UBC Chemistry Young Alumni Award.
